A pressure testing machine in which the cylinder head is submerged in heated water, with all
water conductors sealed off, while simultaneously applying air pressure to the cylinder head.
From the air pressure and the submersion of the head under the heated water it helps revive air
bubbles that escape through the cracks. From there, you can figure out cracks or leaks in the head
and the specialized area where the issue is present.
This test helps ensure that the cylinder head can withstand the coolant pressure without the
possibility of leaking into the combustion chambers, oil passages, or outside the casting.
